Found a contact lens on the beach and maybe shuttle stuff?

Ok it was a strange day at the beach. I found a contact lens and an honest to goodness pure silver dime. You don’t find those to often on the beaches here. And clad of course, a silver cross with a chain that took for ever to untangle and then I ran across this rock that sounded like gold or aluminum on the Excal.
It has some squared off edges and you can see cut marks in it.
Well being I saw the shuttle Challenger blow up some years back, I was wondering if it might be a piece of tile? Does anyone know if the shuttle tiles have a metallic substance in them?
Just out of curiosity, I put my lighter under it for about 30 seconds then immediately touched the area the flame was on. It was only warm and did not burn me. (ok, so I lucked out)
Any way, any ideas?

I don't know if the lens is still any good, but those bar code number will probably tell who the owner is, If there is something wrong with the lens the manufacturer can have a recall for a replacement.
