I recently got permission to check out a area close to the battle fields in fredericksburg on private land and with pretty decent luck . After a nice 8 hour hunt I managed to dig a few bullets one dropped ,one carved ,and one fired ,and one that was cut in half and a brass gun strap peice and as I was about to call it a day I hit a really loud signal and just had to dig it and at six inched dug a eagle button ..so I figured not a bad day and I was headed back to my truck my detector on my shoulder getting ready to jump across this creek when out of the corner of my eye I spotted this bright green object just kinda of sitting in one spot then it moved a few inches so I bent down to get a closer look and low and behold it was a eagle starring right back at me I shoved my hand down in the cold water and there was the most beautifull pantina ive ever seen . I still cant beleive that it lasted over 150 years just floating around in the water and in perfect condition I had to stop and look up the creek to see if someone was playing a joke on me but all I found was a bunch busted 1865 bottles so needless to say I will be back there soon ... Hope ya'll enjoy !!!!

May have gotten dislodged from upstream somewhere. Nice nonetheless

Nice job on the finds, I would definately be getting back to that spot. Hey, that green button appears to have a " V" on the eagles shield, if so it is a rare Voltiquer's uniform button. I found one offered for sale at 239.00 online. Great find!

Great finds!!!

Wow, what a day you had. With the patina on the button, I'd say it had been in the ground for some
time. Probably got washed out this winter. I would definitely go back to the creek and hunt the banks,
there has to be more good finds there. Maybe this summer you can hunt the creek if it dries up some.

Best Of Luck, Ringfinder

Great finds keep them coming
