Now I just have to know what it is.
Went to the Eva bar today. It’s a long walk but always worth it. Water is getting low now and as it drops I find more. No hard stone yet but I’m hoping. Looks Archaic to me and is made from a quartzite. I still have to clean everything up. I will post the rest another day. But I’m interested in the type of this one?

Guilford Stemmed. Congrats on your rescue!
Well that’s a quick response and I just looked. It’s not thick but I believe you sir are spot on. I’ve found all periods on that gravel bar now except Paleo.
Thank you
Now I will post the rest.

Whoa damn! That is a beauty! Thanks for posting.

Nice, looks around 2 1/2 to 3 inches. I got out for a few hours today myself; unfortunately nothing to show (goes with the territory). I'm planning on going to one of my good areas tomorrow.

Nice one, material looks interesting.
It’s a salt and pepper quartzite black stripes running across it. I need to clean it up some more. Soaked it in vinegar but have to be careful as to how long it soaks due to the grainy texture

That's a sweet quartzite point. A big one too. Pretty sure Guilford fits the bill.

Hope you find some good ones.
I still have to measure it but I’m thinking more of the 3 inches or more. Still sending pics to people around here. Nobody has said what they think it is yet. Might be a mystery point I have a few of those.

Just a thought, some types have variations. I don't know about Guilford as a group, but we sometimes find projectile variants and knife forms of certain types.

Possibly. I know I haven’t found another like it. I did find a big Guilford flat base in another creek about 5 miles away so I know they were in the area. Thanks

Well I know a guy who found one close to what I found. His is made from some killer material. His is the brown one. Let me know what you guys think. I’m hearing Benton as the type.

It’s so creek worn I guess I will have to take it to the next show and have it inspected in person. I’m not convinced on Benton either.
Thanks for all of the suggestions

Nice, very nice CreekSide! We’re having a very dry late spring here. I plan to go to my creek tomorrow morning. With low water I’m hopeful, but I can’t imagine anything a good as yours. I’m glad you were able to get out for a hunt.👍🏼

I hope you have some good luck just remember they might be covered in creek dust like the ones I’ve been finding. You have to flip anything with the correct shape cause they will blend right in. Good luck
