Went out with a friend today. He found a 1917 Buffalo nickel and I found a strange small button that has the Indian from a buffalo on it, says liberty as well.

It's not made from a coin- it is much smaller.

Anyone ever seen one before?

I'll get one tomorrow when the sun is up- but it is the exact same design, just smaller and a button.

I'd be very interested to see that. Sounds awesome.

Haven't seen that design of a coin copy button, but seen many others as it was a popular thing to do.

Here are some quick pictures. I will try to get some better ones later.

But just to give you an idea – it is slightly domed so it all depends at the angle you look at it to see the details.

My phone can't really focus clearly on it.

To give you an idea, the last picture is the button sitting next to a wheat penny for scale.

What does the back look like?

No- those are real coins made into buttons. Mine is much much smaller than a real buffalo nickel.

No -- some are--some aren't.
