Found this thing today on a site going back to the 1700’s but has been used by people to the present day. It was at 8” and hit a solid 27-28 on my equinox. It’s brass, has threaded openings on the “ open end” and holes on the narrow end. On one side it has a tab, to me it looks like mini binoculars but it reminds me of something off of a motorcycle’s fuel system. Any guesses????
Thanks for the help and if you’d like to have it, send a self addressed stamped envelope to;

Reminds of the brass mantle assemblies on old pressurized fuel lanterns. I restore a lot of vintage Coleman lanterns and that isn't one of them, but likely a table lamp of some type.

Creskol got it right . I had used both a back burner and Indian tank while in the fire service and knew I'd seen it there but pulled the trigger too fast on the back burner idea.
