It is an arrowhead. Nice find. I need a detector that signals on stone artifacts! Lol!

yep an arrowhead,looks bifurcated too

Good find!

I like the material too.

Sweet find my friend !!!!

Thanks everyone for the response. Guess I better start looking harder. There is a stream right beside this property. Do not really know too much about where and how to look for artifacts such as these but I imagine if you find one there could potentially be more around.

I like that point and the coins ain't too shabby either!

Nice point and detected artifacts ! I can only second everyone else's comments, a nice mottled rhyolite bifurcate it looks to be, roughly dating 8000 to 8500 years old. What county in MD, if you don't mind telling? HH

I'm in Washington County. I am in the general vacinty of Mt. Aetna. Probably within 2 miles of where a site was excavated as a result of road construction and round-a-bout installed. Very interesting story about how artifacts were found during the initial stages of construction and the project was halted until it was documented. As I said before I don't know much about these items although you provided some cool facts. Furthermore I would not even know if it could be associated with that find in and around Mt. Aetna/Rt 66. Thanks!
