able to ID 1775 king george 111 Thanks guys ,beats my 1786 Conn. Copper by 11Years/almost 230 years old,and found in N.C.

its a 1787 or 88 vermont copper if its 1788 its worth hundreds of dollars look oon ebay type (1787 vermont cent)

Scott, although this is a King George the third copper, your's was a good educated guess, as the bust of King George was thought to be the model for the early Vermont cent, and in that way they are very similar. By the way, I see you are detecting at age eleven? Wow. I think most of the old guys here like me wish we'd begun detecting at that age. You've got years of adventure ahead of you!
