Found at 16th century Spanish site. Anyone have an idea?

Hi all,

The item pictured in the photo below was found at a 16th century, Spanish colonial site. It measures 1 x 2 inches and is bronze. Any ideas?

Thank in advance!

Could be a dagger chape.
