OK, look closely at this photo and tell me what you see wrong..... (HINT..........one of these pipes leads to a toilet and I have to cut it all out tomorrow) $%^@%!!!!!!!!!! There had better be a diamond ring in there!
wtf.webp

I'm not a plumber but why the heck would there be that down piece instead of straight piping it, I hope you got your mud boots on that thing is probably filled.

Lol...I feel for ya. A bucket and long rubber gloves...maybe a gas mask.... Hang bucket from pipe with rope, open er up and stand back. Phew!!! Common sense would say put the cleanout on the strait tube but if you get a clog at the elbow...same SH&*, different approach. Would rather hang bucket than have to shove my arm up it.:BangHead:

Problem solved! These are the kinds of jobs that are always best given to the new guy.....:laughing7:

Oh NO! lol.... :)

I am no plumber but isn't the pipe that is coming down from the toilet supposed to come straight down then make a 180 degree turn back up before continuing on to the pipe leading to the sewer lines, I believe it is called a trap........Scott.

Rubber everything.\\ "Scuba Gear" :icon_thumleft:

Double Bagged of course !

Well, if you cut the pipe that is coming down above the elbow, then cut the pipe just before the other pipe at the Y, you won't have to worry about getting splashed but any rotten "BABY RUTHS"!

PREP FOR SPLATTER ...........seriously, sheet of poly and some duct tape used BEFORE you touch anything may prevent future domestic altercations

Check with a metal detector for the ring first.

Looks like they installed the clean out that way to double as a trap. :dontknow:

Nah the water in the bowl of a toilet acts as a trap to keep sewer gasses from coming in. This was just a botch job done by someone who knew he'd never see it again and just didn't care or know better

Let he who plugged it - clean it.
