So we are cleaning out my wife’s uncles house, the house was pretty ran down. In some old photos we found these one is a liquidating trust and one is a cd, both of which are from 32-33. If we could find the rightful heir would these have any value?
The trust has what would be my wife’s great great grandfather on it. But I can’t find anything in details on the trust, I can’t find any info on the bank the cd is from or the trust. I’m very inexperienced as to where to look thoughCD's have value
The Trust should have someones name on it, and the particulars of the Trust
At this point we are trying to figure out where to see if these are just cool old papers or if they have been cashed out or just details in general. The heir would be my wife’s father but he is older and don’t want to trouble him with stuff if it is a dead end.Who inherited what ? They may be the owners of everything
You may have to track the heirs a per will
That’s my problem is I can’t find any info on the terminal bank of Chicago or these municipalities trust.Try contacting the businesses that issued them or sold them?
That is the time period of the Great Depression so maybe they hung onto them as a memory of how things were before.
Not sure about Chicago but go to your ba nk and ask them to point you to the state agency handling trusts. California it was the comptroller if I remember right. If there's any chance of extracting taxes from a distribution they'll help. That’s my problem is I can’t find any info on the terminal bank of Chicago or these municipalities trust.
