Found in Civil War camp

Dug this yesterday in a field that was used as an encampment. I had thought it may have been a swivel to a gun sling as we've found barrel bands, but I feel like I've seen something like this before that's more "modern".

I can't say for sure what they are but I'm confident they are not rifle sling swivels. I have been a Civil War reenactor for a long time and they don't look like any I've ever seen or used.

I would guess farm equipment or wagon or horse related. They seem to have been broken under considerable strain...

Thanks for your input! Someone else said it they were for the stirrups on a McClellan saddle but I'm doubting that as well.
