thank you dave....sure wish i knew some dates of these things

Most of the items look to date from the 1930's through the 50's. Unfortunately your photo's are a bit grainy and out-of-focus and it's kind of hard to tell what you've got there. :icon_scratch:

The candle holder is around 100 years old and is silver and the base may feel heavy but it's filled with sand. The other piece is from the 1880's and is plated silver I have one just like it.

Welcome to Treasurenet!
Great Finds.
That Candleholder is Beautiful.
As far as composition, It's difficult to determine from these pics.
photos of makers/hallmarks would clear it up.
Post any finds in particular you want more info about in the 'What is it' forum.
Best place to find answers to questions about age, value,
& even 'What is it' :laughing7:
A metal detector is a great investment

All you need is three candles and a bottle of wine. Get back in that basement!!! Kidding aside, very nice keepers and to here those words, "take em". Good stuff. Arty

WOW!!!...Thanks for all the info...maybe i can sell oneof them and get a detector....thanks again...great site

Silver plate or solid silver I'd venture a guess that's a very valuable candle holder. You'll nail down a value better when you figure out exactly where that thing came from. Although it's a really cool antique, dump it and get a detector man. Then get the detector in that crawl space but before you do, take whatever you buy for a few go rounds before you go back. You don't want to wear out your welcome fooling around trying to figure the detector out. You want to get in and get out knowing you found everything you could.

it.s says silver on copper made in england and it comes apart in the center to carry a single candle..for sure i'm going to sell it or trade ir for a detector.... .thank you bob

Then it's Silver plated an not worth much unless you can figure out who made it an when... I still don't think it would be worth much..

Still worth a check though. Creeper is right, silver plate usually isn't worth that much but if it's old and collectible it won't matter if it's tin. It could still be valuable. He's also right, find out who made it and when and it could still be worth something.

You need a metal detector, nice finds! HH, Mike
