Tough call. It's rough enough that it looks like it's been pecked but not sure. That edge in the 4th pic looks a little too straight to be natural to me. If it's natural, it's exactly the kind of rock an Indian would bring home to make a celt out of. Gary
 

Looks a lot like grinding stones I’ve found. The thing that throws me is it’s pretty thin, I guess it could be worn to the nub
 

Just as a general observation, it is not at all uncommon for tools such as pestles to be made from sandstone......

I don't claim to be a 'rock hound' by any means, but when I see a rock that stands out from all the others in a field, I pick it up.
