Nope not a basking, looks kind of like a ptychodus tooth

It feels like metal and has ridges around the edges that made me think some kind of coin or button. It makes a metallic clink when it hits other metal but it feels very smooth!

Some sharks and rays have ridged flat teeth for grinding mollusks and such. If it's metal then my theory is wrong.
