Found in Long Beach, CA

Hello! Found this in the surf while looking for shells and beach glass... thought it was glass at first, but looking at it more it has structure and is probably a quartz crystal. Am I right? And if so, is it a good find?

Sure looks like quart to me. I've found a bunch of it on the beach in Cali. It's fairly common and not valuable but I always pick them up too.

Go ahead and tell everyone it IS a diamond, that you just don't need to sell it yet, part of your retirement package. You know those brass game tokens? No Cash Value, I have a number of them, and after tumbling them getting that nice shine, I have them in stacks at eye level, and tell anyone if they notice them that they are some of the "gold" coins I've found over the years. I don't know, kind of cool, at first their eyes get big. I Like your "Diamond"
