Who said that is not the prettiest Breast Plate around?? It is the prettiest one you have ever dug...and, Buddy...it is all yours!! How many years of hunting did it take? Tell us about how you found it! Plate stories are always good. Don't be shy!

Congrats on your first BP!! At least, there is very little ground action on the rim. If you want to smooth the patina, you might consider a little vaseline applied to the face. That will darken the lighter patina. Oh heck, just leave it alone. You never forget your first. HH, Quindy in Tennessee.

I have been detecting for a few years, but my desire to get a breast plate came from having one dug about 10 feet from me last spring. I thought my chances of being that close to one again were pretty low. I found a camp site location just across the road from my house. I have dug a lot of bullets and a few buttons and thought it was pretty much worked, but today proved otherwise. I had a spare hour late today and hit the place again not expecting too much. My next goal is to get a belt buckle.
