Found my first silver at my secret spot!

Sooo. Where is the "secret" spot? J/K. grats on first silver. Still looking for mine.

Lol loose lips sink ships hey does anyone know a good technique to cover every square inch of land so I don't miss anything?

Yes grid it off in 20 or 25 foot squares and hunt each grid then hunt it again at a 90 degree angle. And hunt slowly and carefully overlap your sweeps

Found a gorgous 1906 barber dime mint D, I hope that there's more where that came from when there's wheat there's silver I guess:)

I don't believe you without pics:laughing7: Kidding of course. Pic would be nice though! Congrats:thumbsup:

What do you use to grid off areas?

Sweet!!!! I would think you could use flags to grid areas off like the utility locating flags. If you see a guy marking utilities stop and ask if you can grab some from him. This is what I do for work and if someone asks I will give them several bundles if they want them.

Oh that's easy I may buy some plastic spikes so I don't get any masking

Plastic tent stakes and a roll of twine works as well.

Thank you everyone for the advice:) I have been hitting the same field over and over again and I want to make sure I don't miss anything

If you can't leave them (like someone's yard) get a couple of decent sized washers to mark where you quit. Stick them right down on the soil and stick a nail through them to hold down so they don't dislodge if mown over. Can find real quick with detector when you return.

Twine or the small utility flags or even just a roll of plastic marking ribbon can be found at home depot or most other home improvement stores

I like the little orange cones to mark off an area. They're easier to move than a rope or tape. I definitely don't like anything with metal to mark it off. In shallow water, I use PVC posts, in deeper water, a PVC ladder type frame the width of my swing. I have yet to figure out a good way to grid the surf. I just put markers on the shore and hope for the best in keeping a straight line!

Congrats. Thanks for sharing

If you have a detector there are no secrets spots. There are guys that actually cruise around parks and public areas to see if there is activity then go back when no one is there. If you know your detector no one will find anymore than you.

One thing... After a good rain you have to start all over again! I been detecting my property for 2 years... And with changing seasons and rain I find things that I can't believe my detector missed . And I know I've gone over tbe same ground again n again. Just found this after a good rain.. And I've heavily detected that patch of ground many times !
