The other day I had about 30 minutes to kill at the end of work and was no where near my usual haunts so I went a church that was my elementry school which closed about 1971. At that time I was in 1st grade and had to transition to a different school. Since then the building has been a church but an area that was the playground has never changed much. I had hunted this place when I first got my Ace 250 and once since then but it has been a while. Well I didn't find much coinage but i was going around the foot of a swingset and got a dime reading. I didn't expect this - does sterling mean it is silver??? The ring says on the inside 'sterling kiddiegem'. Also I have been hunting with the Ace in sensitivity mode 1 notch from being maxed out in areas with little trash and having lots of good luck that way. Anybody else try this technique???

Thanks for looking and for reading

I hunt with about 4 notches on my ACE. I have hunted almost at max, but get a lot of
false signals.

I guess I should back off a bit but it seems like I have been getting more wheats cause the you have to check signals more carefully. I had been at 4 notches all this time too until about 2 weeks ago. maybe I will go to 5 and see what happens there. thanks for your replay and I still have not gotten a sunray probe - maybe someday though !!

Nice find!

Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver, and is the standard for silver jewelry. The silver is usually alloyed with a copper or copper nickel base metal to strengthen the silver. Jewelry marks "STERLING" or ".925" mean the same thing. Congrats on an awesome first ring!!

Very nice! It is good you can put some history with it. Motor on!
