Being Indian in origin, this could possibly be cooking skewers used in a tandoor oven

Cooking skewers was going to be my second guess if not ember tongs my first guess. You very well could be right. [emoji2]

Do they cook snakes or does a hot ember burning your hand feel like a snake bite? Just wondering why the snake, kind of resembling a cobra head, was engraved on the piece?

Across the pond I see. There are many Indians in London and all around. Ask a southern Indian to make these dishes for you. You will not be diasappointed
Cheers friend

Could it be a Musical Instrument... The Punjabi "Chimta"

The inscriptions look to be "Punjabi"

Musical Fire Tongs!

Ancient instrument used by them much like a drum.
