Found old half cent

Today we found our first old coin. After some extensive cleaning, we found that it was an 1805 half cent. Our coin book shows there is a small and a large 1805 half cent. Does anyone know how we can tell if ours is the small or the large? I'll post up pictures once my mom stops obsessing over it.

It would be a large 5 or a small 5, the small 5 is pointed at the top stem and smaller than the 0, large 5 is same size as the 0 and has a more squared top stem.

The small or large is referring to the date on the coin. (specifically the 5 in the date). Some coin books have illustrations. Prolab69 kind of described it above.
