I have been hunting a 35 acre stubble corn field, that from 1876 to 1916 had three home sites at different locations. Last fall I found one and scored a 1864 2 cent piece, and an 1865 IH. Today I located the debris field from one of the others, at the other end of the field, where my research said it should be. Field has been under water or just to muddy until this week! I found my first ax head and a very nice, in tact, still working Crotal bell! 102_8627.JPG 102_8626.JPG 102_8625.JPG ! 102_8624.JPG No coins this time, but I am sure there will be

This one is a little smaller than a golf ball. Some I saw doing some research are pretty fancy, engraved, makers marks, the works. This one ......plain, nothing.

Nice old site for sure. And I agree 100%, the coins will come. Nice crotal. Just got my first and only one last year. Sounded like a bomb went off in my ear at 10". Lol

Maybe not a bucket lister, but my wife could not understand why I was so happy to find "A stupid bell" I told her its kinda like you getting all happy over a stupid, new purse.

Keep looking. If your finding all that stuff there has to be a coin or two in that field. I like that crotal bell.

Wear the bell on your detecting wrist, maybe it'll call in treasure!
