I’ve posted this object in the rocks forum several months ago. Thought I’d post here to pick your brains.
This was found on Crystal Beach in Texas (Gulf of Mexico). Caught our eye every time the tide would go out. Thought it had an interesting shape to it so kept it.

I keep looking at it its hard to wrap my head around what it could be is it a shell type thing or bone or rock. It does not seem like a natural piece. ?This is gonna drive me crazy. Hope someone can Id this most things do get an ID
 

Looks like the top to a cane or walking stick.

It’s not a shell. Almost like a clay/terra cotta feel to it. Not heavy at all. It seems carved. Almost has a feline look about it.

Could be the trace fossil of what had been a burrow. Crayfish, worm, etc. The silt filled the hole and mineralized differently that the surrounding sand.
