My brother found this cool token-like whatsit laying on the ground. He works with a landscaping crew and just saw it laying there. The bad part is that he doesn't know what house he was at when he found it! (He got sick and almost died when he was a newborn and is mildly handicapped as a result). I'll keep prodding him, maybe he will suddenly remember where he was when he picked it up. I'd like to take him MDing there if he can remember and I can secure permission. Anyone know what it is?

It almost looks like it was stamped "on" something, like a coin or some-such(I got to say some-such). The stamping doesn't look "all even", some of it looks older, or deeper. What is it made out of ?? That's just about all I can give ya, hope you get an ID on it, it's pretty cool, or some-such(ok, that one was just gratuitous).

That's a cool find. Almost looks like a homemade ID Tag. Saw some similar, but more they were more ornate.
Does look quite old, though

Cool relic, congrats

I seem to be fascinated by this piece. It reminds me of a worry stone (fingering stone) that people used to keep in their pocket and absently take out to rub between their fingers as they pondered some deep thought. You could tell who the heavy thinkers (or worriers) were by the polish of the stone.
Just some random thoughts (I think I need a stone). Bluezman

Thanks for the links Bluezman. Interesting for sure. It is worn heavily around the edges, which makes me think it could have been worried a good bit in someone's pocket.

Gold fish, It's made of copper as far as I can tell, and is a bit larger than a half dollar, and about as thick. At first I thought maybe it was a flattened large cent (or some such :D)...but I think it has too much mass for that.
