And wouldn't you know it, I hit it square with a shovel...

I also found a bunch of clad. Searching an old knothole out in the country. Not bad for 3 hours of work :)

It won't be the first one hit by a shovel critter0527. Sorry it turned out not be gold. But, you did pull it out of the ground - so, it was a good find.
