found someones ashes today!

I was up by a old mine and i saw a brown box and didnt know what it was so i opened it and saw a bag, then i look at the lable and it said crematory! I was really freaked out and i put it back and steped back about 10ft! But why would someone want to be placed on a old mine . But may they rest in peace
