wow dude , that looks crazy ... congratulations on a big score if its the real deal and not gold looking pyrite .

pyrite has a duller less yellow flat look to it

8utstanding find there... I wasreading about the jesuit priest who went around to the indians tribes offering medical care his rewards raw gold. The priest bagged the gold and made casches around the superstition mountains and near the salt river. Heard some banks of the salt river have gold in them. Wish I still lived there . Happy hunting!

Image Lost....?

Can't view the pic, it's lost? I hope that's the pic and not the mine!

Can you repost the photo, please? I'd love to see it. And there are very easy ways to determine if it's really gold. :icon_thumleft:

I reposted the pic, I forgot to do something in the 'manage attachments'

Very Cool-- is that a recent find or a find from the past?

Found it this week

Superstition Mountains of Arizona

Looks like you might be able to start a new reality show on discovery channel, is Vancouver your old address? Or are you just visiting Arizona? What's a spainish death rod?

how about a close up pic? what did you find ?

That is awesome looking, fantastic! GL HH

Now I have to wipe the drool off my screen!

Yes, I'd like to see a close-up, also. Closer the better.

Gold Maven, I see you have a Tesoro Lobo. In MY opinion, the best VLF gold detector out there....though Gold Bug owners will disagree. :notworthy:

I'm in Arizona. Spanish Death Rod aka witching rod aka dowsing

Spanish Death Rod is a more extreme dowsing rod, with supernatural powers.

Ok....that pretty much explains it. I asked only because I had never heard of such a device, but now I have more questions than answers. I asked several people here of Spanish decent, and emailed some family in Spain, but nobody has heard that term. Maybe they call it something else. Can you post a photo of the dowsing rod? I'd like to see how it differs from the bent coat-hanger type.
