FOUND "SPANISH" TREASURE IN TEXAS...

Sunday the 31st of August was hot and muggy as I started the daily quest for treasures. My first couple of treasure sites were getting a new layer of mulch around the deposit zones, so on the third try I just decided to cruise around the outer perimeter and hunt for strays...
My third or fourth signal came in strong penny/dime at two inches by a tree. Low and beholdm I dug down with the Lesche and out popped the treasure below. I was and still am thrilled! I had no idea that I would dig some Spanish treasure today.
It's bronze colored and irregular shaped. My only question is what does "C O P Y" mean in Spanish? (Its a joke guys)

The rest is just a pile of coin and bits-n-pieces.....

Thanks for lookin' and keep safe...

Keith

Re: FOUND "SPANISH" TREASURE IN TEXAS...

The word "copy" means that it is a modern coin... it's a new copy of a Spanish coin that was probably lost (on accident or on purpose)
Sorry...
It's still a cool find! :)

Hey, that's my other "copy" coin. I must have dropped it. Just kidding. I found one at a beach on a lake in the middle of Florida. It was encrusted and I thought I had found the 'Reale' thing until I got it home and cleaned it up.

Good find though. Finds like that get the heart jumping for a short while. That's where the fun in this hobby comes from.

P.S. Here's mine

That's about like diggin' your 4th copper for the year and still not have one show a date :o Cool find Rudy

Re: FOUND "SPANISH" TREASURE IN TEXAS...

Ya know ... The odds of finding a Spanish reale or cob really are slim...doesnt happen everyday , so finding one makes for a great day , but think the odds of digging a copy are slimmer ! AMAZING and NICE find !!
