Found Sunglasses in Surf & 30-minutes later, returned them to Owner
So today I was detecting the Singer Island beach. About 1/2-hr after getting there, I spotted a pair of $550 Thom Browne shades rolling in the shoreline surf. Put them in my pocket & continued on down the wet sand.
When I got about 1/2-mile south, a young couple came up to me asking if I might have found his shades he lost in the waves an hour earlier. He described them perfectly, & I said "are these yours?"
He got so excited that he was jumping around, hugged me & shook my hand celebrating his Shade's return. He was only without them for a total of one hour! Simply amazing that those glasses traveled a half-mile in 30-minutes.
He said his name was Jim & they were visiting from Chicago. I told him, "well now your shades can go back home with you". I said all I wanted for finding them was a picture with him wearing them again. But he insisted that I take the $50 bill he had his wife give me.
A great feeling to reunite the lost item to them in such a very unusual way.
