Welcome to Tnet.

All we have to go on at the moment is that it looks to have a golden/metallic appearance. That doesn't mean its gold though. It could be pyrite (fool's gold) or something else. You say that it's '22k', but have you actually tested it, or had it tested? If you have, then good for you. That would be a great find.

Otherwise, a good and simple first step would be a streak test, for which you need a ceramic tile (an offcut from DIY work, or you might ask a local suppler it they have a broken one). Give the golden area a firm streak on the back (unglazed) side and blow away any dust. Gold will leave an unmistakable metallic streak. Pyrite will leave a greyish-black streak that usually has a greenish tinge to it.

Geez bud. Certainly worth doing as Red-Coat suggests or spending some change on getting a test kit. Here’s hoping you have the real deal! 🍻

I’m fairly lost. Tell me again why it’s 22 karat
Sorry. I hit the wrong button. Who told you the 22k? That’s an unusual number for someone to come up with, after finding a rock. I hope you’re right! But pull me along, I’m not an Instant Believer. I’ve see too many folks who think a Piper Cub is a spaceship from Uranus. They aren’t all full of baloney; some are just overly optimistic. The Truth is Out There. Thanks and good luck 🍀
