don't know what this is but it responded like a dollar piece thought it was kinda cool its relay heavy and has threads at one end thats all i know

It might be a valve or a screw-in plug.

It sorta' looks like an old gas valve. Perhaps for an old stove or hot water heater, as I think the ones on lamps tended to be more decorative.

I agree. Large valve for opening and closing.

I think it's a barrel tap. A spigot from a beer barrel or something like that. I dug one on a Civil War campsite.

I can see why the others suggested a stove or hot water heater valve, because the butterfly handle part certainly looks like those. They got the "valve" part right. But I'm stickin' to my barrel tap theory.
