Found this in my backyard !!

Our backyard is considered part of the Ute trail here on the north side of Pikes Peak , and was a resting , camping area for the Utes on their way to garden of the Gods and back. The old timers down here in our little valley have shown me mayonnaise jars full of arrowheads that they have found dating back to the 1940s. All I have found up until this morning was one flake,,, then I picked this up about 80 feet out the backdoor !😎

Yes it is Tam. The Arapahoe and Cheyenne came through here also on their way up to Bayou Salado but I'm guessing it's Ute.

E-trac , Thanks for sharing the hill climb token ! I found one in the 1980s in Cripple Creek and now it belongs to my Granddaughter. They show up around here every so often. Did you find yours in Ohio ?

Yes, the yard I found the 1935 Pikes Peak Token is here in North East, Ohio.

Have you ever read the book Bayou Salado? I'd like to get me a little clear bottom boat and take it out along the shores of Antero. Me and two of the fellas worked with at the mine on Fremont would go fishing on our long change in the ones little Ted Williams boat a lot. I remember a time I thought we were done for. We were out a ways in the early spring. A cold blast came in bringing freezing stinging sleet. That little boat that barely fit all three of us only had a little troll motor for propulsion and it wasn't scooting to the shore worth a poop. Ice began building up all around the top rim of the hull and that boat was getting heavier and it was maybe 5 inches then above the waterline in increasing waves. All three of us pulled are jackets up across are arms lifted high and we all became pretty good sails in the wind. We made it not to the dock but, that little fiberglass boat was easy to drag back on what became icy scrub grass all the way to the pickup parked at the dock. Boy I couldn't wait for that cab of that pickup to bring on the heat after all that. One of those buddies of mine back then later started an enterprising lab in a dugout under a mobile home up there in the later 90s I found out when I received a letter from him with a return address from the United States Federal Penitentiary - Florence, Colorado.

Tam, I have read Bayou Salado around 20 times and will again. I've had the book in my library for around 35 years. I have been through some wicked storms at Antero as well !! A few years back they recorded a temperature of - 53 F !! I agree, a glass bottom boat would be a bonus !!!☺
