✅ SOLVED found this iron piece on an old farm. 8 inches long. Shape and size like a deer's ear. Hole at the top does not go all the way through

Looks like blade from blacksmith shear. One side is flat and the other looks shaped for strength. Sort of ridged.

You could be correct. It does appear to be a cutting type instrument and as you stated, it is flat on one side and ridged on the other. the puzzling thing is that the holes on each side go in about an 1/8 inch and stop. Definitely no hole going all the way through

Likely just to hold it in place and the back fit in handles that took the stress of use. In my humble opinion.

I believe that dozer dan is correct. The item's shape and cutting edge seems to be more consistent with it being part of a large loppers type tool
Possible.
I've yet to see a curved jaw or blade for such though.
