Found this walking in an alluvial fan now damned off... cracked it open

Looks like grainy quartz with decomposed pyrites, the reds, though I think I see some small intact pyrites, the shiny metalic bits, in it.

There appears to be a rounded yellow ball sticking out lower center of the first picture. It could be just my interpretation of the photograph but pyrite shatters instead of rounding off. If I had found that I would crush it and pan the broken remains for gold.
