Seem to be a loop but can't find on line

that's awesome. I'd date it to around 1890-1900

I definitely looks like a loop but can't tell how thick it is without another pic of the side. It is the same size as the fractional gold (Tiny) so opera glasses are out. To be a loop it needs to have 2 lenses so if only one lens it is a magnifying glass. Did you dig this? It looks to nice. If dug I would say has good gold content?

Cheers all

It looks as though the gold piece could have been held in it maybe it was to show off the gold piece?Since you found together had you tried to see if the piece fit in the loop and if the gold piece has indentations where it could have been mounted to it.

Is the loop hallmarked cause if it came out of the ground looking like that, it might be platinum? HH

Yes was dug , an has one lens. I'd say gold content is 9 to 10 k , its made very well .

It looks like silver in your pic? The engraving on it is what makes me think it's platinum have it tested. HH

Can you show a side view of the piece with the magnifying glass,It might go inside the piece it might spin and could be another lens in the piece .Just a thought.
