Its a very ornate hand made brass drawer pull, the back part. I would put the age in the late colonial/Revolutionary war period. It's extremely nice. Did you find much else with it?

Welcome to the forum! Anthony - Plazz58, and I were up on Battle Hill, in White Plains, NY, this morning and it was Hot, Wet, and Sticky!! While I'm thinking this is off a piece of furniture, I wasn't sure and asked Anthony to join the forum and post it up. Battle Hill, is the site of the Battle of White Plains, in 1776. I found two Wheats, '44 and '56, and a nickel. My shirt was soaked through in less than an hour, and my glasses were fogged over so bad I had to take them off - One of "those" mornings.

No nothing else only a couple of bottle caps and a big piece of rebar

I stayed up late last night hoping the skies would clear long enough to see comet Neowise. I was not successful. It never cleared off.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Cool, I'd hit that area hard again

I agree, drawer pull escutcheon. As far as age, I'm thinking first half of the 1800s, but I have never dug or seen one like it, so I may be way off.

Welcome to the site from Delaware. I'd agree with the drawer pull escutcheon ID, minus the part you would actually pull.

Niice find yep go back and keep at it.

Welcome to tnet also.........Tommy

Nice piece of Furniture Jewelry.
Welcome to the forum from Port Allegheny, Pennsylvania

Nice find! Welcome to the forum from the hills on N.E. Oregon!

Nice find and welcome to the forum !

Yes, I also was thinking draw pull myself before I read the other posts.

Good Hunting ! :icon_thumright:

Very interesting relic! :occasion14:

Welcome...That’s pretty and better than beverage cans! Are there any markings on the back?

Nice relic find and welcome to the forum. Like others have said, I'd go back and have another look at that spot.
