Just got home from some recon/MDing. found a 1911 wheat, and what may be the find of my life........
I stopped by an old (150 years or so) hotel, turns out the owner is quite aversive to MD'ing, she has never let anyone go over it in the 50+ years she has lived there.
Well, as I am prone to do, we got to talking, and as it turs out, she worked with my father for several years, and knew me when I was "kneehigh to a grasshopper", we got along great. By the end of the conversation, she was talking about getting ahold of my dad if she changes her mind about the permission thing(it gets hard to type with all ten fingers crossed)
But the story gets better, the plot thickens, and then I almost pooped. She says to me that I have obviously not heard the "legends" about her house. According to her research(she's a history buff-thus the old house) back in the 20's a lawyer owned the house, and they hid $250,000 dollars on the property. The interior of the house has been searched(somewhat), but the yard has NEVER BEEN DETECTED!!!! In her research she has actually turned up reliable evidence that this family withheld A LOT of money. She said I can keep what I find, but I'm sorry, if that money is in gold, I really don't need that much, she'll live in the lap - O - luxury if I find it.
So, that was my big find for the day, so far this is the only person that has denied me permission to hunt their property, I REALLY hope that changes.
