ED-NH , it looks like it may be silver or maybe silver plated not sure but it came out of the hole nice .

Technically no..1942 was a crossover date..some 1942 nickels have no silver content, those are the ones without the large mint letter over the dome. The large letter over the dome are the nickels that contained silver. (Nickel was critical for the war effort at the time, so it was eliminated from the coins until 1946).
