Poison some meat and throw it under the porch.
Fortunately for you, the site has rules about disparaging comments towards another
member. Always enjoyed your posts, and can only hope that you would never actually
do such a thing
I will say this:
anybody who uses poison in an attempt to remove an animal
(even mice) is a cruel, thoughtless fool.
Poison
never brings a humane death..it's agonizingly painful for the animal.
Then, there's the downstream effects...animal succumbs to the poison, and
another hungry animal comes along and takes advantage of the free meal...
then it too suffers for hours on end before it dies.
Even mouse poison, as it is generally water activated. Mouse eats the poison,
gets thirsty and goes to a local water source...drinks, suffers and dies. ANY mouse
eating critter to come along will now suffer the same fate. Hawks, eagles,
raccoons...and on and on will suffer and die because a mouse was where
he shouldn't have been.
I also can't believe how many of you are advocating killing a Mama fox pregnant
with pups. You should be ashamed of yourselves. There is no honor in such a death,
especially when she can easily be persuaded to make her den elsewhere. I know you're
all good people, but please think about the real-world ramifications before you comment.
As for the fox, I agree with others. She's looking for a place to den up and
safely have her pups. You can fence off the area temporarily to discourage her,
or you can make a comfortable sized pen and put a dog in it for a couple nights.
She won't den if there is dog there.
If you live trap and relocate her, she not only will have to find a den site in a
hurry, but not being familiar with the area she'll be handicapped on finding
enough food to support her and the pups, allowing the possibility she will
kill the pups after birth as she knows she won't be able to feed them.
Fence the area off, spend $3.00 for some coyote urine and splash it all
around the area and she'll be history. Problem solved.
