i have NO research skills to speak of,,, gas for the truck is basically how i find sites,, if there's anyone that wants to do some research in my area they can have the 2nd days finds.....
the first day at a new spot is clearing day kinda, but the 2nd is investagating everything,, hopefully i won't get ridiculed too much for posting this,, but some people love to research,, i just aint one of them....

i'm 20 miles south of boston off route 3 in hanover mass......
but 4 a good area, i'll go at least 50 miles....

oldest coin finds so far,, 2 king georges, lots of large cents,,
thanx,,,,rick.....

Green, no offense, but you are the last person I would expect to see posting something like this. I've seen posts of your finds, and some of them are SWEET. I live in WI, so I'm no help at all, but maybe if you give the reasearch thing a shot, you'll warm up to it. All I can say is, approach the situation with the attitude of historical research and go from there. Or keep your eyes out for old foundations(sometimes under newer-looking homes), and start asking permission.

I will say that your post kind-of confuses me. You've got a couple thousand posts, I would have thought you had it figured out by now ??? Good luck - HH

lol,, i try my little butt off...... it just don't work.... :'( :'( :'(

I would be willing to research for you......Just pm me with details and we could seehow it works out.

I hardly reseach.... if it looks like a good hunting ground I go for it.Unless it a trip far away, then I tend to find out about the area first.I'm one of those,"you never know what you might find..... kind of guy" More fun that way.

Sites by just driving around isnt all bad its part of the hunt.Research saves gas but also takes a lot of time. Some drive by sites give up old coins but like one member said go where no others dare to go.The only problem in drive by hunting you might tresspass and not know it.Many sites here the owners are glad that i MD it because i remove scrap metal buried on the property.

log into http://sanborn.umi.com/
click on "browse maps"
user name is "residence"
password is "welcome"
Then click on a state, then a town and then a date.
You can save the maps, make them larger and print them out. Have fun. There are some Hanover maps from 1931 and 1917. Should help a little.
