I'm from Md./Va. and one of the first things I did when I got here was explore the motherlode. One of my first friends was a gold prospector. He drug me all over the hills, looking for gold. The problem was he would'nt stop long enough for me to dig in. So, I took notes and went back on my own time and had good results. I've learned alot since then. My problem is choosing the forsure smaller stuff, or the iffy spots that have bigger nuggets. In those areas I can work for days and not find a flake. Then the next day, I get 1/4 ouncer. I always take my newbies to the first area so they do'nt get disapointed.tymcmurray said:Love the sight of gold.
Can't wait to get back out west a find some more.
Congratulations.
I get alot of that flake stuck in the tube on my sniffer, so I modified it with a slightly larger tube. The things I gotta do for gold!Ole Grubstake said:I'll take that. Slurp that right up with the sniffer bottle.
