Best I had was last year in Bardstown, KY. All of the above but with a pile of sauerkraut in the middle.
Loved them since I was a kid, loved the Bardstown better. Can't remember the restaurant, down town on a side street, and we were seated upstairs. Sauerkraut just made it POP!
Did the Bourbon Tour for 8 days, also vineyards + the oldest licensed vineyard in the nation.George Washington surveyed the land and it was on a mountain above the KY River. Est 1799

Who loves fried balony (Bologna)sandwiches? They were a favorite as a kid & I still love them. Thick slice of baloney, Swiss cheese all melted, big slice of onion & mayo on sourdough bread.
Use to eat them all the time growing up and thru my single days. I occasionally still have them now. Looks like our recipe is the same too. Mine was Spanish or Vidalia onion .

Used to have them all the time growing up! Great memories... thanks for bringing them back! Used to make them all the time when I was a teenager. Now I'm gonna have to make a couple again, just for the memories!
