From the Debitage fields....

The first picture,,could be just debitage, but its just the prettiest little thing. I just love the shape of it. Second looks like the base of a point re worked into a scraper. It`s sharp as a knife. These next ones are broken points and 2 bases. One looks like a claw, just thought it was cool looking.The next pic. That tip is so tiny, wonder what it came off of. Last pic,,,,a full sized dinner plate, with 2 snack bags, of flakes. It comes in at 4.3 pounds. I`m thinking mosaic material. Oh well,,,maybe the coolest find is just under the surface, waiting for the rain we had today ,,gotta keep the happy thoughts.

Tn!! photo #s6302918 only way to be 99% sure is for me is to hold them in my hand. one on left sure looks like a hafted scrapper, one on right could easley be a scribe AKA engraver, bottom one tips like this make me wander just how long it was, could be broke off 1/8 inch triangle or maybe a 2 or 3 inch who knows what type. can not count out any point type that has a needle tip. Thanx Terry, I thought the same thing about the scribe, but you know how much I know,,Not a lot. I`m learning from all you guys a little at a time. I appreciate the info. Is a hafted scraper made on purpose or from a broken something?

Tn!! most of time it looks like from a broken projectil point but not sure all are look at the broke end of all points, a break will be flat when looking stright at that end while a hafted scrapper is flaked from one side to the oridganal surface of the point and one that is sometimes called a blunt is flaked form both sides to the middel of point only with steeper angle than old ediges of point. wish they would put spell ckeck back!
