This is from this past week. It's too cold to do much right this minute, but I do expect a thaw before it finally freezes hard.
I went to a Civil War site and got a couple minie balls and a couple iron underwear buttons. Took a couple days to get the iron cleaned and waxed.
Now it's not a lot, sometimes you get the gold mine, sometimes you get left in the cold.




The first picture is a colonial flint striker in iron, used with a flint to make sparks for a fire. A group of hand forged nails.
The first piece of pottery is called sgraffito. It is from the first half of the 18th century and if you had a whole original one, you'd be in the money. Second piece is very, very thin glass, probably a snuff bottle, and it is coated with pure gold leaf! That's REAL PURE GOLD folks! I have never found either kind of pottery or glass like this before. Love the old sites. I also got a lot of clay pipe pieces. No coins, no buckles this time.
