Fugio button and large cent today

To many people around to go into my new cellar today so i went in another section i found on sattelite this winter..All walls no cellar hole and a rock quarry..
Found a 1789 fugio cent that was punched for a button replacement..
And a 1819 largie...

That would be 1787 Fugio. It being used as a button is a sign of the times. There was a coppers panic in the late 1780's. There was such a glut of coppers that the value plummeted, there were all the various state coppers, real and counterfeit, counterfeit English halfpence, as well as various private issues.

I don't see any bad in this story. How many Fugio, have I seen posted - many. How many Fugio converted into a button with forged nails have I seen - NONE (until now). So a once rare coin is now an even rarer button. (with the added value of an historic story). It may effect the value of the coin, but I have little care for that!
