I swung by the SLQ house again and hit the place in ALL METAL with the EXP. That means you can hear every tiny piece of metal including everything from iron to silver. It's like riding an audio rocket-sled with a hundred tones.
Anyway. There's a thousand nails per square foot and I managed to tease these items out of that mess.

I'm not sure what the square thing is, but it has a nice patina. :D

Cheers!

Nice finds Ridley---That Indian head is in good shape.

So did you put the skunk on MM? ;D How does the wife's hair look? ;D :D

A couple great keepers(bullet and IH). WTG.

I usually hunt in all metal mode just eliminating -16 and -15.

Bob

You and many others who choose to hunt in all-metal are very bold. I couldn't stand the amount of sounds! hahaha

You did great, bud.

Bob,
Ridley DID skunk me tonight, because I couldn't go. :'(

I stopped by with my kids after dinner to see how my hunting buddy was going. I knew he had something when I saw that sh-t eating grin on his face. ;D

Congrats Dave. Very nice finds. You know I love to find those IH coins. I hope you left me one. ;D
This spot you scored us, has been great hunting.
Great job,
MM

Hey Ridley,
Nice finds. I tried the all metal mode with my Quattro, but I am deaf in one side,
and I think it's just to much different signal sounds to comprehend with just one ear.
Is that metal thingy made of lead? I've found pieces of lead babbit that CW soldiers
carried around to make bullets out of. They look very similar to that piece.

The square thing is lead with a round hole through the middle. It's slightly twisted. I just have a feeling it might be something old that I've never heard of before.

The tone for gold in ferrous mode is very low, but higher than iron. The Indian Head was mid range and the lead was a high to mid range. All that iron sounds like low thumpy booms. Almost like the grand finale of a fireworks show. In between the thumps sometimes you can hear squeaks and pops, but what you listen for is a higher thump.

I did find two pop tops in the iron. That made me happy, because I successfully differentiated the tones. With the Iron mask (on) the threshold simply drops out completely at this site. Silence...

Bob knows the sounds I'm talking about. :D

Doug, don't worry there's plenty of coins and assorted metal all over that place! :D

Great finds.
The all metal mode on my tesoro is really
handy when seroing a target, especially a
deeper one. But you have to be careful when
you're hunting in all metal mode. I've dug 3
to 4 inches just to pull up a 1/4 inch piece of
a gum wrapper. That gets a little frusterating
as anyone with a Tesoro can tell you.

Nice going, Ridley, at teasing those finds out of the iron mess around that house. If there is that much iron there, I bet a 5" coil would tease a few more out of there. I had a friend over here use a 5" coil with his explorer at an iron infested site, set his sensitivity between 12-14 on his SE (don't know what that would equate to on the Exp. II), with a little iron mask in Conduct, and found a barber dime and a V nickel from the area. He said if you moved the coil to fast or used higher sens., it would be "null-city", but by backing down on the sens. with a slower swing, the ground just "lit up".

Ridley, I'm not sure which is better, the 3 ringer or the IH. Oh heck, keep 'em both! Looks like you guys are tearing that place up. Nice finds, keep 'em coming.

If the square thing is lead and found close to the bullet then it was probably lead that would have been used to mold more bullets.
