Ive got to send this one in the on off button went out and the vibrate mode quit. Ive had problems with it for awhile but it finally went out .I looked at it today and noticed the tip, ive had this for a year so if you have one and use it alot you better do something to the tip. I dig in sand here on the coast so its not like its rocks or clay, garret will fix it and the lady who answered the phone was very helpful but not really satisfied with the durability of the pro pointer itself. That tip looks to be a defective part as it should be solid and yours looks to have had some air pockets in the molding process.

ive heard others with the same issue.

I had that issue too, but I've used it roughly so I pretty much blame myself. Get yourself a piece of heat shrink and shrink it over that tip. I got my heat shrink in a variety pack from Harbor Freight tools. It should cover almost up to the useless light.

I had problems with the switch on mine too. In addition, it would start beeping for no reason and wouldn't stop until I turned it off. I sent it back to Garrett (really nice people). It cost me $43 to get it repaired and it worked for only one day before it acted up again.

I really couldn't see putting more money into that pin pointer so so bought a White's Bullseye TRX. It's worked well and I like the extra sensitivity and programmability. It's also designed so you can replace the shell when it wears through. Hope this is helpful, Tt
