My metal detector is sending me mixed signals! One minute it sniffs coins then a bit of digging changes the tone to iron (or rust mainly) is it to sensitive or just the ground conditions?

Good idea when doing grass/parks but he is in a ploughed field so its very unusual to get hard ground.
