Will a GTA Ultra 1000 with a 7x10 updated coil detect gold in the all metal mode?? I work in Fiji, have the detector with me & am thinking about going to QT, New Zealand area to detect for gold nuggets when we close down for xmas!!!!!!!!

Thanks

Nearly all detectors will pickup gold, especially in the all metal mode. The real question is how small and how deep, especially for a general purpose detector as you have. If you pass the coil over a fair sized piece at very moderate depth, you'll probably get a signal, whereas a detector designed for prospecting will pick up a considerably smaller piece and at greater depth. If you're fortunate enough to swing over a considerable chunk you'll get plenty of signal. Hope you do.
