I was reading on The Garrett Pro-Pointer an seen it is water resistant (can be washed in running water or used in the rain) ......can this pointer be used under water ,I know it has sound an a light an you wouldnt be able to hear the sound but you could see the light,I was just thinking it would really be useful in the moving sand I dig underwater.

thanks Tank :icon_thumright:

The key words here are 'water resistant'
It has a small speaker grille near the top. I use the tip of mine sometimes
in water but I would not submerge it.

Garrett says it can be submerged up to the speaker which is above the switch but a momentary dunk won't hurt it.

The light stays on all the time as an indicator that it is on and as a flashlight. If you did decide to dunk it it also vibrates.

I would say it as near waterproof as you can get, if you place a finger over the speaker slot. Details I have seen say that you can clean it by running it under the faucet, as long as you hold a finger over the speaker slot. I just bought one after detecting with a buddy who had one. The coins were deep and the ProPointer dig a better job then my good but cheap Centech.
