Hi,
Just got my sea hunter mark II today. Trying to get my brain to grasp the Elimination (descrimination) numbers and what each one will eliminate. Found something in manual but i dont quite get it. If anyone has some kinda chart or something i can print out to take with me tomorrow. Any input on this detector would be great!
Cheers,
Dan

Don't do much underwater hunting, well actually never. LOL You can always get some trash items, gold rings etc. and see where they tune out. Also, when you are underwater run zero discrimination at first and when you get a target just turn the dial until you tune it out then dig it up and see what it is. Eventually you will figure out how much you want to eliminate. Probably not much past foil.

Don't confuse elimination with discrimination. It has no disc and the elimination sounds good, but it is actually more like a sensitivity feature. It starts knocking out targets by size. My advice is only turn it up to where it's stable in the surf.

Yeah, Ive heard people complain that it doesnt discriminate like they thought it would.

Ahh. That's what i was thinking

There's a chart of sorts on the kellyco seahunter page or google garrett seahunter discrimination chart.

GibH is right about the play on words on Disc Vs Elimination. Since beaches vary in minerals (Salt concentrations and Black Sand) you need to check various targets on the sand while adjusting the controls if you want to Think you have some disc. For this reason, charts by sellers are worthless as it is only a marketing ploy.

Yea bubby. I rented out a beach house for a wk in mid July on surfside. I'll have plenty of time to do some testing. Get up 5am, hav some espresso and go to it...
